Engagement Process

From first scoping call to signed opinion

Financial auditing follows a calendar. This page shows how Tsubasa Assurance Desk sequences planning, warehouse attendance, testing, and reporting so your finance team knows what happens each week.

  1. Scoping conversation

We review entity structure, prior auditor status, significant locations, and who will read the report. You leave with a clear sense of whether a statutory audit, limited review, or narrower engagement fits.

  2. Engagement letter

Scope, fees, independence confirmation, and fieldwork windows are written down. A 30% deposit holds the dates. No work begins until the letter is signed by both sides.

  3. Planning and risk assessment

We walk through revenue, purchasing, and inventory processes; identify significant risks; and send a document request list timed to your close schedule — not dumped the week of fieldwork.

  4. Fieldwork and observation

Teams attend offices and warehouses as scoped. Inventory observation, cut-off testing, and substantive samples happen while your plant still has the people who know the stock.

  5. Adjustments and management letter

Proposed adjustments and control findings are discussed as they arise. The management letter ranks issues so the board packet can show what was fixed before the opinion date.

  6. Opinion and closing meeting

Draft report, subsequent events inquiry, and a closing meeting with the finance lead. Signed opinion or review report follows once open items are cleared.

What we ask you to prepare

  • Trial balance and general ledger extracts for the period
  • Inventory count instructions and site maps
  • Bank, legal, and related-party confirmation lists
  • Draft notes to the financial statements
  • Access to controllers at each material location
